PROGRAMS

The Learning Bee Nature School
and
TLBS Traditional

Should you register for one or both?

Depending on your educational needs and schedule:

What is your "Nature School" program?

The Learning Bee Nature School is situated on a picturesque campus in Winter Haven. Nestled by a serene lake with ample acreage, our location provides the perfect setting for immersive nature studies. From gardening and weaving to sewing, survival skills, fitness, kayaking, and fishing, our curriculum offers a diverse range of hands-on experiences. Science is taught through exploration of ecosystems, kitchen experiments, and engaging activities. We integrate nature journaling, world history, and math into our daily lessons, with most of our learning taking place outdoors, weather permitting.

Our program follows a one-classroom schoolhouse approach with separate groups, offering a unique and enriching educational experience that goes beyond the traditional core subjects.

*For more information on exact location, contact us. We are located in Polk county, Fl.

What days do you meet?

Our Nature School is in session on
Mondays from 9:00am-2:00pm.

What subjects are covered?

This program will be built on unit studies in a couple different areas. This means we will combine several subjects around one topic.
  • Nature Studies: Bible Devotions, Handicrafts, Nature Journaling, Creative Writing, kayaking, gardening, science, fishing, life skills: woodworking, sewing, beginning automotive, kitchen sciences
  • Outdoor Math: Whole-body math that is taught by using outdoor manipulatives, woodworking calculations, drawing plans, finding math in nature and playing math games.

What is your "Traditonal" program?

Our program follows a traditional approach in the subjects of English, Math, History, and Science/STEAM, taught within a classroom setting. We align our curriculum with the Florida Standards (CPALMS) to ensure consistency across all grades. Our instructors draw from various Christian curriculums to meet educational objectives. However, our program differs from traditional methods in terms of grade levels, grading, and testing.

With small class sizes, we provide individualized attention and focus on teaching to mastery. Subjects are taught in structured time increments across all levels, allowing for flexibility in placement. As homeschoolers ourselves, we recognize the importance of meeting each child at their unique level and catering to their individual needs.
