She is a wife and mother of 3 girls. Originally from Lilburn, Ga, her parents are native Floridians.
In college, she studied horticulture, education, art, and played soccer.
She has worked in the food service industry, in animal care and emergency clinics, in house keeping, as a nanny, and as businesses professional in corporate for several years. Her family moved to Florida in 2015, then to Lake Wales in 2017, where she has planted roots to make this her home.
“I was focused on giving to the community and to make connections. I understand the importance of leading by example, so I would bring my kids everywhere getting involved volunteering with Meals on Wheels, in 4H, as an assistant soccer coach, in American Heritage Girls, dance, our local homeschool group, as well as several homeschooling connect groups such as: homestead skills and Adventure Girls. We have been homeschooling for 6 years. We enjoy the freedom, opportunities and time it provides for our family. I love that I can be a part of my children’s education and be able to be involved in their lives.
I enjoy home improvement projects. My dad taught me when I was little how to be creative, how to use power tools to build and how to be resourceful with second hand and found items. In my spare time I enjoy my small hobby farm with goats, a horse, our dogs and chickens. I enjoy serving others and spending time with my family.
I heard God’s calling to start up the Learning Bee School as a support to the family who needs help in their family's homeschooling education.”

Teachers and Instructors

April Polynice

April Polynice was born and raised in Central Florida. She has been married to Widny Polynice for 11 years and has two children, 8 and 9 years old, that have been homeschooled from the beginning. Her experience with teaching is eclectic and expanding. She's the K-5 children's director at her church, a NAYS certified cheerleading coach at a local youth recreation center. She has taught in a co-op setting and helped co-lead an active preschool group in the past.


"Working with kids and adjusting to their specific needs is something I love to do. I understand that every child is not designed the same and I strive to make sure each child gets individualized attention and adjustments as needed to help them do their best. I believe progress forward is worth celebrating, no matter how large or small a step."

Liz Fife

Liz was born and raised in Eastern Idaho in the Rocky mountains but is happy to call Florida her home for the last five years. Two of her three amazing girls were born here making them native Floridians. Liz and her husband moved to Tallahassee in 2018 for his education in Entomology. After his graduation they moved to Polk county and have loved it. Liz attended the University of Idaho where she received a bachelor's degree in Anthropology in 2011. Her formal education has increased her love of the diverse people historically and present-day around the world. Liz specialized in Archaeology and attended a field school in western Montana where she participated in an excavation of a Nez Perce camp, finding spear heads, remnants of fire and other artifacts. Liz has experience substitute teaching most grades and tutoring on the Cour d’ Alene reservation. She tutored kindergarten, first grade and seventh grade. That was a very rewarding experience because she was able to conduct stone tool demonstrations as well as play a mentoring role with some of the older students.
Liz has worked as a nursery leader at her church as well as other positions with children and youth for the last eight years.
“I love making connections with children, kids and teens. I love to laugh with them and find what interests them and encourage those interests.”

Carolyn Wilson

Carolyn Wilson has been married for 12 years and has three daughters. After serving four years in the United States Navy, Carolyn pursued a bachelors in Business Management and Masters in Education, Curriculum and Instruction.

She has been a co-leader in 4H for many years, has a farm with her husband with bees, pigs, chickens and cows.

"I have been homeschooling my own children for the past 5 years and have been an active participant iteaching co-op classes of a wide variety. In addition, I have been a pre-k AWANA teacher and 1st grade Sunday School teacher for the past 6 years at First Baptist Church of Lake Wales."
